Master Chief from the Halo series will soon join the cast of the popular social deduction game Among Us. InnerSloth revealed this news on the official Among Us Twitter account, and the Xbox and Xbox Game Pass Twitter accounts wasted no time in replying with some cheeky joke responses. The announcement doesn’t say much, but it showcases the new skin for the Xbox icon and a miniature 343 Guilty Spark pet.
Further details about the release date and method for obtaining the skin have yet to be revealed. However, the tweet does say “the Impostor is coming for u… very soon,” so it shouldn’t be too long before we hear more information about the unlikely crossover.
Among Us has been branching out
InnerSloth has been steadily adding to the game with additions like the Scientist role and changes to how players can unlock cosmetics. Crossovers have been all the rage in gaming over the last few years, and games like Among Us have stayed up on the trend.
Earlier this year, InnerSloth announced a collaboration with the Scream series to bring Ghostface cosmetics to the game. And last year it announced a Rachet skin with a Clank pet for PlayStation players. A collaboration with Riot Games saw the release of various limited-time cosmetics tied to the League of Legends TV show, Arcane. The cosmetics included a Heimerdinger skin, as well as items based on characters like Jinx, Caitlyn, and Vi. Now, Master Chief will soon provide some Xbox representation in Among Us.
The studio also detailed plans for various new updates and additions to the game that fans can expect to see in the future. These include a helpful in-game friend system, and a hide-and-seek game mode. There’s even a virtual reality edition of the game on the way for people who want to betray their friends in first-person.
