Razer Changes Mechanical Keyboard Landscape

Razer announced today their Ultra-Low-Profile Mechanical Switch, a first in the world of mechanical keyboards. The switches boast of feeling like a full-size mechanical keyboard, despite their tiny form factor. The keys have a true actuation and reset point and require 70 grams of force to push down which is near a Cherry MX Black switch.

The exclusive switch will make it’s debut in Razer’s Mechanical Keyboard Case for the Apple® iPad Pro, showcasing just how small these keys really are.

Razer’s CEO Min-Liang Tan had this to say on the new switch:

We’re commonly thought of as a company that makes phenomenal products for gamers, but to design the very best products, we’ve had to innovate from the ground up – even from each individual component such as mechanical switches. We’re excited about the potential of our Ultra-Low-Profile Mechanical Switch and look forward to exploring other applications in addition to the mechanical keyboard we’ve designed for the iPad Pro.
