Solar Ash Delayed Until December 2021

Solar Ash is getting delayed until early December

A few more tweaks.

Well, would you look at that? Is it game-delayed o’clock already? My, how time flies when you’re waiting for game launches. I’ve written so many game delay announcements this year it might as well be in my job description. Today’s special guest is none other than Solar Ash, which has been delayed past its October 26 release date. The follow-up to Hyper Light Drifter will now launch on December 2.

Game delays this year have typically come in two flavors: the need for polish, or pandemic-related issues. Of course, you can also get a bi-colored swirl of both. And that’s what we’re getting today, according to developer Heart Machine and publisher Annapurna. In a message to the community, the companies write that they “need a bit more time to get the last pieced of polish” while they’re also “still navigating this global pandemic as a highly dedicated team.” The pandemic has thrown a lot of game companies into flux, with team members getting sent home to continue working on their projects.

And honestly, the delay isn’t all too grave. Solar Ash will only bake in the oven for another five weeks. In the meantime, it’ll miss getting overshadowed by some of November’s titans like Call of Duty: Vanguard and Battlefield 2042. The latter of which has also been hit by its own delay, and caused a delay of at least one game. It’s been a wild year.

Solar Ash delayed, but not for long

Game delays often hurt most when the title is one that’s highly anticipated. Solar Ash has been looking great since its debut; a third-person action game where you skate through gorgeous and surreal scenery in a world where giants look down on you. I’ve been excited for it, even though I still have yet to play its spiritual predecessor. Solar Ash contains a lot of high-speed, free-flowing movement with the use of a grappling hook. Massive beasts float through the air, offering you some rather tense platforming opportunities.

Solar Ash will now release for PC via the Epic Games Store on December 2.

Solar Ash delayed to december 2021

I have a feeling it’ll be worth the wait.
