Mythic Paths offer an additional layer of progression in Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous. Compared to regular leveling in the game (i.e., killing enemies to gain XP), Mythic Paths follow a different system. The only way you’ll actually attain Mythic Ranks is by completing some of the main quests in the campaign. Likewise, there are specific requirements in order for you to unlock the actual options. Here’s our Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous guide series to help you unlock all the Mythic Paths in the game.
Note: For more information, check out our Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous guides and features hub. Likewise, please be reminded that this guide series contains minor spoilers about the campaign.
Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous – Mythic Paths guide — How to unlock all Mythic Paths in the campaign
Think of Mythic Paths as empowered or bonus class options in Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous. Each one provides numerous perks that will bolster your character toward certain specializations, all while giving you new opportunities when it comes to dialogue checks and role-playing. And, yes, your main character event gets to transform into a more powerful entity.
Anyway, since we’re discussing a lot of facets about this mechanic, you can refer to the pages below for the parts that you need help with:
- The basics and FAQ: Mythic Ranks, being a Mythic Hero, dialogue options, and late-game picks – aka. “Why are Mythic Paths greyed out?” and “Can I switch Mythic Paths later?”
- How to unlock the Angel, Demon, and Legend Mythic Paths
- How to unlock the Azata Mythic Path
- How to unlock the Aeon and Trickster Mythic Paths
- How to unlock the Lich Mythic Path
- How to unlock the Gold Dragon Mythic Path
- How to unlock the Swarm-That-Walks Mythic Path
- How to unlock the Devil Mythic Path
Note 1: Mythic Paths offer their own sidequests to full empowerment. Likewise, some companions might leave you based on your actions (especially if your chosen Mythic Path goes against their beliefs). It won’t be an issue halfway through the game (i.e., Mythic Rank 3). But, once you’re locked in much later (i.e., following a late-game decision at Mythic Rank 8), you will see these ramifications.
Note 2: Speaking of ramifications and consequences, your decision can also determine the forces that can join your crusading armies from Act III onwards. For example, choosing the Lich Mythic Path will spawn 600x zombies and 600x skeletons.
Note 3: For the sake of clarity, we’ll focus on how to unlock Mythic Paths in our guide series. We’ll provide a summary of what you can expect when it comes to certain selections, but not a full list of abilities and perks.
