Ubisoft held a financial call to investors today, during which CEO Yves Guillemot confirmed that the futuristic third-person title Watch Dogs, which impressed with an E3 trailer this year, would be coming in 2013. He didn’t narrow the date down any further than that, but at least that’s a window to work with.

Watch Dogs will be coming next year,” were Guillemot’s precise words.

The company posted a net loss of 38 million Euros (around $49 million USD) for the first half of this financial year. Guillemot puts this down, in part, to massive marketing campaigns for Assassin’s Creed 3 and Far Cry 3.

That marketing effort may pay off, at least for the former title as Ubisoft confirmed that Assassin’s Creed 3 has sold (not just shipped) 3.5 million copies to date. Not bad, considering it still has a PC release coming up later this month.

Here’s how Watch Dogs looked at E3, running on PC technology.
