You’ve still got Tartaglia, Fischl, Bennett, and Keqing as the characters with a +20% damage bonus. Compared to the previous encounter, though, there are some key differences when it comes to modifiers and flairs:

  • Elemental skill cooldown is increased by 150%; elemental bursts slightly increase the party’s ATK – I didn’t activate this since I was heavily reliant on Kazuha’s skill.
  • Shielded characters periodically deal Electro or Cryo damage to nearby foes; ATK reduction if characters aren’t protected by shields.
  • Characters lose 5% of their max HP when they deal critical hits. This effect can kill characters if you’re not careful.
  • The Maguu Kenki bosses can have Pyro and/or Hydro resistance.
  • The Maguu Kenki: Mask of Terror has been added.

I personally found this boss fight against the Maguu Kenki a lot easier than the first time around. Primarily, it’s because you no longer need to worry about the instant-revive flair if you need the extra points. Still, you do need to beware of the third Maguu Kenki, the Mask of Terror.

This particular enemy has a couple of attacks reminiscent of the elite you can face in the Golden Apple Archipelago. It can fire a giant mask in a straight line, or it can cause the giant mask to spawn and crush a character that’s further away.

For this battle, I decided to use Kazuha, Ganyu, Albedo, and Qiqi. I actually “brute-forced” this one, ignoring most mechanics and just powering through my foes. I used Albedo for shields and the initial burst to avoid the Lone Gale’s Blade Winds. In hindsight, it’s probably better to use Beidou here for that Electro field, but I didn’t have her leveled up.

As for Ganyu, she was there to provide Cryo procs, and her massive burst definitely helped. Of course, Kazuha did his skills/plunging attack and bursts to continue damaging all three. Ideally, you’ll want all three to be grouped up when you start smacking them around. Otherwise, you’d end up wasting a lot of time.
