Halo: The Master Chief Collection Season 7: Elite is almost ready

This has been the biggest week for the Halo franchise in years. No doubt us PC fans felt like it was a dream come true to receive a proper port for Halo: The Master Chief Collection back in 2019. Nostalgia aside, it’s hard to deny that the games feel dated and can’t replace the demand for a modern Halo experience. Fortunately, Halo Infinite appears to be on track for a holiday 2021 release. It’s a wait, sure, but the good news is that Season 7: Elite is about to add more content to Halo: The Master Chief Collection on June 23.

Just like the name implies, the focus of Season 7 is on those blarging aliens with the funny-shaped heads that are hard to snipe. The update will add seven new armor sets that can be mixed and matched to your heart’s content. There will also be new energy sword skins in various colors to go along with it, including those sick red blades we’ve been dying to use for years. Developer 343 Industries will likely throw in an assortment of other new cosmetics like name plates, additional weapon skins, and other things. Nothing specific has been mentioned yet.

Just like the previous seasons, the content will be free. Enjoy it while you can. Halo Infinite will have free-to-play multiplayer, but the armor and other cosmetics will require a season pass to unlock. Speaking of which, we have a couple new Halo Infinite screenshots that provide a better look at vehicles and armors.

Heavy metal

Franchise fans are already welcoming the return of the Brute Chopper. This iconic heavy patrol vehicle features a boost ability that allows it to crush enemy foot soldiers and vehicles alike. 343 also provided a good look at its revised version of the Mark series armor. That’s the same line that Master Chief wore throughout all of the previous Halo games. The latest edition is the Mark VII Gen 3. It definitely looks similar to the Season 6 Spartan armors that were added to Halo: The Master Chief Collection, and you can pit those against the new Elites when Season 7 arrives.
