Infestation World, an open-world sandbox survival game, will be released in Q2 2016. The game will focus on competitive multiplayer in two ” Battle Modes”, including:
- Time Attack – the team with the most kills after a match with unlimited respawns is declared the winner. This game type encourages an aggressive style of play with bold, risky strategies.
- Team Deathmatch – a classic setup where each player only has one life per match. Team Deathmatch encourages conservative strategies, as hasty, miscalculated moves can quickly leave a player dead and teammates at a disadvantage for an entire match.
These Battle Modes have a pronounced focus on eSports, with regional competitions taking place after the game’s release, leading up to the Infestation World Championship, which will take place in Q3 2016 in Thailand. Thanin Piromward, CEO of Electronics Extreme, had this to say on competitive space of the title:
We’re very eager to include more players in our community by launching Infestation worldwide. We can’t wait to watch the strongest players face off in our new competitive game modes.
Electronics Extreme, the developer of Infestation World, have claimed to make significant performance changes in terms of framerate, bugs, and cheating since the title was called War Z. In addition to the fixes, Infestation World will contain a wealth of additional content.
Infestation World will hold a closed beta from March 28 – April 3, with an open beta launching on April 6. Check out the trailer for Battle Modes below.
