Following up from the announcement that Wasteland 3 will get its first DLC on June 3, publisher Deep Silver and developer inXile Entertainment have released a Welcome to Steeltown trailer. The trailer fills players in on how Steeltown came to be the production heart of Colorado, as well as provides an overview of what’s going on in the factories now. Needless to say, there’s a lot happening.
The DLC, titled Wasteland 3: The Battle of Steeltown will task you with venturing into the towering factories to find out why deliveries have faltered. While the Rangers are not particularly welcome in Steeltown, the future of Colorado is in jeopardy. The Patriarch needs the problems fixed swiftly, and no one solves problems like the Rangers.
A wary welcome
When you first arrive in Steeltown, it’s completely locked down. No one can leave and no one, besides you, can enter. A group of striking workers is holding the complex hostage in a dangerous standoff with CEO Markham.
Where there’s chaos, there are inevitably bandits looking to thrive off the fringes of society too. The scrapyards and refugee camps around Steeltown are ripe pickings for these outlaws, as security forces have been moved inside the factories to help deal with the strike. The trailer also mentions that there might be an army of gangs and cults closing in. It sounds like you’ll have your hands full in Steeltown.
The key to victory and saving Steeltown will be to work out why the factories are suddenly falling apart after years of prosperity.
Wasteland 3 is available for purchase for PC through Steam. The Battle for Steeltown DLC will be available starting on June 3.
