How to unlock the Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Wakizashi sword

Become a Samurai with your new blade.

Although knifing is not overly popular in first person shooter games, it can be quite fun to do. Now, there is a new melee weapon in Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War for you to try out in Season 1. The Wakizashi is a sword which is slower than a regular knife, but offers much more range. To start causing havoc with your new sword, you have to unlock it first. To do so, you have to complete a challenge and it may prove to be quite difficult. The challenge requires you to perform two finishing moves in a total of ten different matches with a combat knife equipped. To do a finishing move, you have to sneak up behind an enemy and get close enough to complete a finishing move. Ultimately, to perform a finishing move, you have to hold down the melee button.

In order to do this successfully, there are some changes you can make to your gameplay to make the Black Ops Cold War Wakizashi sword challenge easier. To begin, you should customize your loadout to make it suited to the requirements of the challenge. Using the Ninja perk allows you to move more quietly, therefore, you will be able to sneak up on unsuspecting enemies. Next, Stun Grenades may prove to be useful to stop an enemy in their tracks and allow you to quickly perform a finishing move.

Take on the role of a Samurai with your Wakizashi sword

To unlock the Black Ops Cold War Wakizashi sword, you may have to switch up your play style entirely. Playing around corners or in close quarter areas can be beneficial. You can let the enemy run past you and then sneak up behind them to perform the finishing move. Soon enough, you will unlock your brand new blade which you can show off on any loadout.
