There’s plenty of hardware news and notes that come out throughout each week. So much so that it may be tough to keep up with everything. PC Invasion is here for you though with “This Week in Hardware,” a weekly wrap up of all the things you may have missed in the world of PC gaming hardware.
From launches to announcements, here’s what you may have missed for the week of November 30 through December 4.
PC Hardware news wrap up
— The upcoming Intel Core i9-11900K saw early benchmarks leaked via Ashes of The Singularity. The new CPU will feature 8 cores and 16 threads. It will also have a 3.50 GHz base block, 16 MB of L3 cache, and 4 MB of L2 cache.
— The Nvidia GeForce RTX 3060 Ti launched this week. And though it was expected to have more stock, it doesn’t seem like it’s been easier to find a card.
— For those still looking for a GeForce RTX 30 Series graphics card, a developer named Jef LeCompete has created a bot to track the available stock across numerous outlets. The bot is streaming updates in real time on Twitch, and gives audio alerts when cards are in stock.
— PC Invasion review: The EPOS GSX 300 External Sound Card is a straightforward USB audio interface made for gaming that falls short other areas.
— Pimax is launching its new 5K Super virtual reality headset. The headset is the only one on the market that can reach a refresh rate of 180Hz, though it requires enabling an experimental mode. The standard refresh rate on the device is still an impressive 160Hz.
— After originally being unveiled at CES 2020, Razer is finally releasing its Razer Tomahawk Gaming Desktop to consumers. The small-factor PC features an Intel Core i9-9980HK as well as an Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080 Founders Edition graphics card. If you don’t want the included RTX 3080, you can buy a version that comes with an open PCIe x16 slot for the GPU of your choice.
