The Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War RPD appears to be an underrated choice in the light machine gun category. Perhaps, the Stoner 63 is taking the limelight as it was enjoyed in the beta. The RPD is described as a fully automatic weapon with an excellent handling speed. Although it has less ammo capacity and less recoil control, the community has discovered the correct attachments to combat this.
To begin, the first viable attachment is the Muzzle Brake 7.62. This slightly improves the vertical recoil control of the RPD. Next, the 20.3” Task Force Barrel has a multitude of beneficial effects. It increases your effective damage range and your bullet velocity by 100 per cent. Also, the barrel boosts your damage by five per cent. Another popular attachment is the Spetsnaz Grip Underbarrel, which improves both the vertical and horizontal recoil control, making the RPD more accurate.
To increase your magazine capacity and reload quickness, equipping the VDV 125 Round Fast Magazine will resolve the issue of having less ammunition capacity. Finally, another favored choice is the GRU Elastic Wrap Handle. This attachment will make your aim down sight time quicker and you will be able to aim while going prone. As well as this, your flinch resistance will improve by 90 per cent.
Could the RPD be the future meta?
So far, light machine guns do not seem to be as popular in Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War. Other weapons such as the AUG and the XM4 have proved to be fan favorites. However, light machine guns have shown themselves to be dominant in Call of Duty: Warzone. Perhaps, when the integration between the two begins on December 10, the RPD could be dominant in Verdansk. Until then, you can take your new RPD loadout to the battlefield in Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War multiplayer.
