HyperX is upping the ante in the budget home audio market, announcing the brand new SoloCast USB microphone.
Retailing for $59.99, the SoloCast is a condenser microphone that boasts a “Plug N Play” USB 2.0 connection along with a cardioid polar pattern. It also features a simple tap-to-mute sensor with an LED indicator.
A microphone for small spaces
With its advertised “Plug N Play,” the SoloCast should be expected to be used without the need to install any extra software. It will work right out of the box with a variety of software such as Discord, Teamspeak, OBS Studio, and more.
The included stand is adjustable to suit a variety of user setups. If users don’t want to use the proprietary stand, they can utilize the built-in mount adapter to attach it to a variety of ⅜ inch or ⅝ inch thread size mic stands and boom arms.

In addition to PC and Mac use, the SoloCast works with the PlayStation 4.
Those interested in purchasing the HyperX Solocast can do so via the company’s website. The SoloCast joins HyperX’s growing catalog of microphones that includes the recently release QuadCast S with RGB lighting. But one thing to note, unlike other HyperX offerings, the SoloCast doesn’t include an internal pop filter, requiring you to purchase an external filter if need be.
