The official announcement trailer for the upcoming and highly anticipated League of Legends spin-off game has been officially dropped. Its reveal happened just moments after game two of the finals in the League of Legends World Championship, a.k.a, Worlds 2020. Before today, the only details we had known was that it was going to feature one of the highly conversed topics in League of Legends lore. Namely, it’s about the Ruined King of the Shadow Isle of course. But more importantly, who exactly is he? Scroll below for the announcement trailer for Ruined King: A League of Legends Story.
We actually got two surprises following the Worlds tourney. Not only did we get the announcement trailer, but a release window. Ruined King: A League of Legends Story will be out on PC in early 2021. The trailer even showcases the Ruined King himself. Alongside this, we get the official champions selected to be playable for this turned based RPG. From the champions shown, it appears that one popular champion from each class in League of Legends has been selected:
- Miss Fortune in her Captain skin seems to be the head of the team and the marksman/ADC
- Illaoi as the juggernaut
- Braum as the tank
- Pyke as the assassin
- Ahri as the mage
- Yasuo as the fighter
Ruined King lore drop
Earlier in the year, both Yasuo and Ahri were revealed to have left their home in Yone’s cinematic and were released to live servers. Now, we finally know why. They had been sailing for Bilgewater, the home of Miss Fortune, Illaoi, and Pyke. So far, no other details about the story have been officially revealed. But my guess is that our team of champions will be bringing a major ass-kicking to the Ruined King, who must have something to do with the state of the Shadow Isle.
