Steam’s Halloween sale is on now, bringing some spooky discounts

Dear wallet: be afraid.

It’s that time of year. The leaves are falling from the trees, it’s starting to get colder, and people are starting to consume media to frighten themselves for a break from our more frightening reality. As always, that means Steam’s Halloween Sale is now live, bringing a plethora of spooktastic savings to gamers hungry for scares.

Running from today to November 2nd at 10 AM Pacific time, the sale not only brings discounts, but in-game events to really get players into the Samhain spirit. Players will find big price cuts on games like Control, Resident Evil 2, Blasphemous, Devil May Cry V, and Little Nightmares.  As for in-game events, players will find new content in Deep Rock Galactic‘s “Deep Rock Ghoulactic” event, as well as spooky events for No Man’s Sky and Rust.

It’s not all discounts and events, though. The point shop has some All Hallow’s Eve goodies you can grab as well. Steam’s Halloween items include an avatar frame, profile background, and even a creepy emoticon known only as Edwin. Make sure you get some points together and grab those if you want ’em, as they’ll only be around for a limited time.

Resident Evil 3 Demo & Resistance Open Beta

Naturally, there are also a bunch of horror demos available if you want to try some free scares for yourself. Games like SCP BlackoutScarlet Scarf, and Golden Light have demos that can be downloaded while you’re reading this, so you can get your scare on in just a few minutes. Personally, I’m probably going to play some Little Nightmares and possibly some Amnesia to set the tone, as it just isn’t Halloween without staring a screen for hours on end.

That also describes my criteria for every other holiday in existence, though. Also, is Halloween even a holiday? Don’t take off from work for Halloween people, unless you’re a witch or something. Especially not if you work in a pumpkin-related industry.
