We Might Not See Bethesda At E3 2016

This article is over 9 years old and may contain outdated information

After a well-executed first shot at an E3 press conference, it appears that Bethesda would like to take things slow. The stellar lineup held plenty of promise, and people have been singing praises for the developer.

Unfortunately, it sounds like Bethesda’s presence at E3 might be a one-time deal. “We’re not the sort of publisher that focuses on ‘what’s our 25 titles for 2015’,” Bethesda VP of PR and marketing Pete Hines tells The Telegraph. “I don’t know if we’ll do one again. This year felt like the right time to do this kind of thing.”

If not to cement their presence as a major player in the industry, why did they push through with a presscon this year? “It felt like more than we could accomplish in a booth. [N]o matter what we do in our booth, we only get a subset of people that attend E3. There’s no way we’re getting 40,000 people to our booth to see everything. You’re lucky to get four,” said Hines. They felt they had a solid lineup for this year, and they showcased it for the entire world to see.

Maybe we’ll see Bethesda pop up at E3 again in a few years’ time, with a fresh lineup?
