XCOM release pushed to ‘fiscal 2013’

This article is over 13 years old and may contain outdated information

Take-Two has revealed that XCOM, the first-person ‘reimagining’ of the classic strategy title, will not be released until the next financial year. This period runs from 1 April 2012 to 31 March 2013, though the eventual release date is fairly likely to be towards the beginning of that period.
This news comes as part of Take-Two’s financial disclosures for July-September 2011, during which the company posted net losses of $47.3 million USD.
A few sales details were included with the report, including news that LA Noire (the PC version of which launched today) has now shipped (rather than sold) 4 million copies worldwide. Of course, this news is slightly tempered by the fact that LA Noire developers Team Bondi were forced into closure after the game’s release, with many staff still owed pay.
For the full fiscal year 2012, Take-Two anticipates a profit, citing upcoming releases of Max Payne 3 and The Darkness 2, as well as NBA 2K12.
