Othercide: Guides and features hub

This article is over 4 years old and may contain outdated information

Othercide is a new turn-based tactical strategy game from developer Lightbulb Crew and publisher Focus Home Interactive. It boasts a high degree of difficulty that’ll make you scratch your head, feel frustrated, and then completely restart. Heck, maybe the game would do that for you automatically when you wipe at a boss.

Features and game mechanics

Official review – Our official review of Othercide takes a look at the game’s combat system, difficulty spikes, roguelike progression, and overall presentation. Is it worth your while? Well, you can find the answer to that question here.

Beginner’s guide: Tips for combat and survival – The world of Othercide is bleak, grim, and full of challenges. There’s a good chance you won’t succeed on your first try. Nevertheless, this beginner’s guide helps you with prolonging your survival until you can get back on your feet.

How to resurrect fallen Daughters – The game does not let you heal your Daughters (your characters) at all. You’ll need to sacrifice someone or let them die. Still, there’s a way to bring some of them back to life.

Missions guide – There are four distinct types of missions in the game — Hunt, Survival, Rescue, and Ritual — and they’ll all test your mettle.

Remembrances guide – Oh, you died? Well, don’t worry. You can pick up new Remembrances that you’ve unlocked. Now, you’ve got more perks and boons to help you on your next playthrough.

Classes

Blademaster class and skills – This melee combatant boasts the highest damage output out of all Daughter classes.

Shieldbearer class and skills – This is your traditional tank, soaking damage and delaying enemies as often as possible.

Soulsinger class and skills – The typical ranged class offers a lot of benefits and useful action point (AP) management.

Scythedancer class and skills – The Scythedancer is not available when you start the campaign, but, once you unlock this class, you’ll have someone who’s great against armored units.

Bosses

The Surgeon – The boss of the game’s first chapter (aka. era) will present one hell of a challenge.

The Deacon – This chapter two boss will make you beg for mercy.

The Maid – The boss of the game’s third act will slice and dice you.

The Child – A lonely soul will become your foe in the game’s fourth era.

The Nucleus/SufferingOthercide‘s final chapter will have you battling with a deadly entity that seeks to bring ruin.
