After E3 2020 was turned to ash, it was inevitable that Square Enix would show off Marvel’s Avengers in live stream form. Today, the publisher confirmed as much, dropping a teaser trailer for the event. On June 24, Square Enix will host a ‘War Table’ live stream for the game, bringing more details and gameplay.
So, what is ol’ Sqeenix bringing to the alleged table? There will be new trailers, naturally — we’ve already had a few, so that comes as no surprise. The most recent one was a rather short, one-minute affair highlighting the powers and abilities of Earth’s mightiest heroes. Late last year we also got a glimpse of character customization, with skin options that may try and rival that of 2018’s Spider-Man. For the War Table, however, the publisher plans on showing off some co-op action for the first time, along with a look at story missions.

I’m looking forward to hearing more about the co-op function, of which we’ve only received some information. Not long after Marvel’s Avengers was revealed at E3 2019, Square Enix revealed its co-op mode for up to four players. The game includes online co-op, which is great. However, it will only allow one hero per session, which means you can’t have four Thors running around dropping the hammer.
On the positive, your heroes are highly customizable. That should mean you can pick and choose abilities that synergize better with your co-op fellows. Hopefully we see that during the War Table stream.
The Marvel’s Avengers ‘War Table’ live stream will be on June 24. So far, the time and place isn’t known, but I’m sure Square Enix will announce it fairly soon. The game will be available, barring any more delays, on September 4 this year.
