Wolcen Lords Of Mayhem hotfix servers issues

Wolcen hotfix addresses servers and other issues

Lords of offline.
This article is over 4 years old and may contain outdated information

The developer of Wolcen: Lords of Mayhem began its hotfix memo with thanks to fans for their patience. And of course Wolcen Studio almost had to, considering the odd series of events that led to the hotfix today. The game lurched into its launch last week. Server issues prevented most people from playing the game online, forcing them to play offline characters — that they sadly can’t take online at the moment. It’s better now, but still sickly. Today’s hotfix addresses issues and game changes, but this is only a salve, not a cure.

The patch notes are lengthy, covering everything from game changes to buffs and nerfs. Naturally, most of you are concerned with the server situation. At the time of writing, the servers have opened up for only a certain amount of players at once. Wolcen Studio reports that it’s currently “upgrading [its] servers infrastructure.”

In due time, but it will take time

However, the next patch should allow more players. But that news isn’t all daisies and puppy dog kisses. There will only be one hotfix per week, according to the team. The next patch will let more people play online, but it’ll still be limited.

“The next hotfix will already bring some enhancements that will allow us to increase the limit of concurrent players, and we will continue to increase it if we notice improvements,” the patch notes read.

The hotfix isn’t the cure-all for Wolcen’s server issues.

Buffs, nerfs, and other changes

The hotfix addresses a plethora of other tweaks coming to Wolcen. Crashes, dropping out of the map, and several bugs have been addressed. The hotfix also fixes an issue that prevented people from saving their offline character — which must have been a real kick to the shins. Duping has also been removed, for the most part. The hotfix also provides balance changes to Aspects of the Apocalypse, ranging from buffs to nerfs for the aspects.
