League Of Legends Season 10 cinematic trailer season 2020

League of Legends season 10 offers an electrifying cinematic trailer

Get hyped for "season 2020."

League of Legends season 10 (or “season 2020”) is starting on January 10, and Riot just released a pretty sweet cinematic ahead of the event. The cinematic is called “Warriors” and fittingly has Imagine Dragons’ song of the same name. It’s a somber cover version, though, because there is always a somber cover version of a song.

Purple spider thingies

The League of Legends cinematic is impressive. In fact, I’d venture to say it approaches Blizzard-level quality. It starts off at a frosty castle, where Garen and Lux struggle against Sylas and his army. Elsewhere, Caitlyn and Vi fight some bald steampunk androids who are trying to release Urgot. And Ezreal runs away from some skittering purple spiders with the help of Kai’Sa. It’s pretty typical “good guy versus bad guy” stuff, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t fun to watch.

It’s a bit unfortunate that all the bad champions lose. I mean, it’s understandable that at least one of them loses, but all three? Maybe one day we’ll get a cinematic with a happy cover of  “Hurt” where Gangplank beats up Jayce.

League of Legends season 10

As usual, the new season will have a soft reset of ranked. New ranks will be based on performance during pre-season and placement matches. Season 10 will also introduce the newest champion, Sett, a pit fighter with a very 2005 emo haircut. This character will be joining the fight on January 14 per the patch notes.

Season 10 will also at some point feature the long-awaited release of Clash, which is a team-based tournament mode. Players will participate in an eight-team bracket. You need to be Summoner level 30 to play Clash, and if you win you’ll get the opportunity to get special items like team icons and banners.
