FireCuda 520 SSD

The FireCuda 520 SSD, available today, unleashes the speed of PCIe 4.0 x4 to deliver read and write speeds of up to 5000 and 4400 MB/s respectively — 45% faster than that of the previous generations. This new M.2 2280 SSD comes in 500 GB, 1 TB, and 2 TB options and is out-of-the-box compatible with the AMD X570 chipset. It should easily plug into any PCIe Gen4 motherboard for an instant performance boost. Of course, it’s also backwards compatible with any PCIe 3.0 platform. Purchase of the FireCuda 520 SSD comes with 5-year limited warranty. The entry price is $124.99 for 500 GB capacity, $249.99 for 1 TB, and finally, a hefty $429.99 for 2 TB.

FireCuda Gaming Dock

The FireCuda Gaming Dock looks to be an external storage dock with 4 TB 3.5″ HDD built-in. It also comes fitted with a PCIe Gen3 NVMe M.2 SSD expansion slot for any future SSD upgrades. The Gaming Dock uses a Thunderbolt 3 connection to connect with your PC, but is also equipped with an absurd number of ports. These ports include a Thunderbolt 3 accessory port, DisplayPort 1.4, RJ45 ethernet network port, 3.5mm audio-in/mic port, 3.5mm audio-out part, four USB 3.1 Gen 2 ports, and a USB 3.1 Gen2 charge port. It only seems right if Seagate wants to justify the $349.99 price tag on the dock. Unlike the FireCuda 520 SSD, the FireCuda Gaming Dock won’t be available until later this month. Purchase of the FireCuda 520 SSD will come with 3-year limited warranty.

While desktop gamers won’t see much benefit from the dock, laptops users will find it plenty useful. No longer will you have to be constrained by your device’s pitiful storage size. Unfortunately, the dock does not come with laptop charging support, meaning potential buyers will have to lug around their laptop charger alongside this giant.
