After facing some development setbacks, BioWare has dropped a pretty big tease for Dragon Age 4. This tease comes in the form of the number ‘4’ replacing the letter ‘A’ in the word ‘Age’ in a tweet from BioWare’s Twitter account.
Today marks 10 years of Dragon Age! This year we’re excited to join the community’s party on December 4th and celebrate a decade together in the world we all love. See you on 12/4 for Dragon 4ge Day!

Mark that in your calendars – we’ll be celebrating Dragon 4ge Day on December 4. Surely, BioWare intends to reveal more about the upcoming Dragon Age 4 as part of their joining the community’s party. To tee up a potential announcement like that and then not reveal anything would be an enormous PR blunder. And just really mean.
You probably have questions
We’ve known Dragon Age 4 was coming for a while. It’s been in development for ages, having been put on hold and even canceled in the past. It was teased last year at The Game Awards, and recently EA’s Chief Financial Officer, Blake Jorgensen, said, “You should assume that there’s Dragon Age out there, we’ve talked about it publicly that it’s in the works. It probably comes after fiscal 2022.”
Jorgensen is a money guy, so he said, ‘fiscal 2022’ instead of giving a season or month. Fiscal 2022 is between April 2021 and March 2022. So, we’re looking at the earliest release date for Dragon Age 4 being around mid-2022.
As for the story, we know it involves something called the Dread Wolf. In the teaser trailer, we can see a shadowy-wolf looming hungrily to the side of the end frame. We also know that Solas will be involved, as it’s his voice you hear at the end of the trailer. Matthew Goldman, the Creative Director for Dragon Age 4, said in a post on EA’s website, “We’ve gathered our strongest team yet and are venturing forth on the most epic quest ever!”
So, we’re optimistic about this one being a goodie. Make sure to check back next month, when we’ll hopefully receive some more news about the game. If not, we riot.
