Partisans 1941 features a Soviet resistance

This upcoming RTS looks to take a different approach to WWII. Rather than featuring soldiers, players take control of a squad of partisans. These citizen-soldiers are not trained members of the military. Rather, they are everyday citizens who have taken up the fight against the enemy. Much like the French and Dutch Resistance forces, Soviet partisans played a major role in defending their homeland against the enemy.

This is where stealth and sabotage come into play. Rather than using direct force, you might need to evade combat as it pertains to your squad’s safety. Some missions may not be combative at all. You might set out to create diversions in order to aid those who are trying to slip past the enemy. Partisans 1941 will also have the player engaging in sidequests with non-combat characters. You will have the opportunity to help, or not to help, certain locals. This may alter the flow of missions that are available to the player. Ultimately, you might be recruiting some of these locals. As the head of the squad, you’ll be responsible for training them and sending them into dangerous missions.

Also notable is the base-building element. Players will have to use their base to craft items and weapons and manage resources. The base is also home to where you supervise your operatives. Once you recruit your squad, the home base is where all of the planning takes place.

This looks like a game that will appeal to fans of the Commandos series as well as Shadow Tactics: Blades of the Shogun. Will Partisans 1941 deliver? Let us know what you think down below.
