New Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 Operation Grand Heist Update Incoming

This article is over 5 years old and may contain outdated information

Even though other multiplayer experiences have launched during Call of Duty: Black Ops 4‘s lifespan, that doesn’t mean it’s dead. Treyarch and Activision recently launched the Operation Grand Heist, adding new maps and modes. Today, Treyarch announced some new fixes to the various moving parts that are Black Ops 4.

Although many of the tweaks mentioned are coming to the game first on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, the PC platform will see most of them as well. That is, minus the St. Patrick’s Day event known “Shamrock & Awe” coming specifically to PlayStation owners.

Blackout, Zombies, and World League—Oh my!

The many updates revealed by Treyarch for its money-printing franchise were detailed in a post on Reddit. You’ll have to scroll through the majority of the text within the post to get to the PC goodies. However, many of the changes made are similar across all platforms.

Changes include things like the ability to switch your class when joining a multiplayer match in progress, migrating hosts if the host drops out during public zombie matches, and one that addresses users not being able to “progress beyond Prestige Master Level 999.” For World League, fixes include the appropriate amount of XP and other reward items from special events.

Friendliest Of Fires

A common theme throughout each of the sections – regardless of playing on console or PC – is the focus on changes to some friendly fire features. Examples include unique hit markers when enabled. This can be seen in modes such as Blackout, Hardcore, and League Play. Changes also come in the form of weapons. Specifically, the Thresher will not damage allies when used with friendly fire enabled.

The Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 Operation Grand Heist update is now live on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. There is no specific launch timeframe on PC other than it is “to follow” the updates on other platforms.
