Fallout 76 Players Will Receive Three Classic Fallout Games Next Month

It might be worth a reminder that Fallout 76 just did not live up to the expectations of many fans. While Bethesda is actively trying to improve the game, too many past incidents — from canvas bags to refund issues — as well as the state of the game when it launched have left a soured the opinions of players. Still, the developers are looking to temper some of the outrage by way of freebies. That’s because Fallout 76 players will end up receiving three classic Fallout games for PC: Fallout, Fallout 2, and Fallout Tactics: Brotherhood of Steel.

So yes, all you have to do is log in at any point in time from the game’s release through the end of 2018. This also includes console players. You’ll then end up with three classic Fallout games in early January as part of their “entitlement” reward. The term, though, can’t help one think that there’s a little dig in there somewhere. In any case, let’s move on to the games themselves.

Fallout Freebies

The first Fallout game was made by Interplay. It became one of the forerunners of a more mature and realistic PC roleplaying game scene. No longer were players experiencing a cutesy high fantasy world. They were living in a harsh, post-apocalyptic wasteland, where they can do even the most atrocious of actions.

Fallout 2, also from Interplay, was also highly acclaimed. It expanded on the original as your character searched for the Garden of Eden Creation Kit (GECK) to save your people from drought.

Fallout Tactics: Brotherhood of Steel had a more complicated system, although it also introduced multiplayer for the first time in the series. The title was developed by Micro Forté although Interplay still published it.

Those are the three games that you’ll end up having in early January, whether you’re still playing Fallout 76 or you’ve completely stopped already. If you’re critical of Fallout 76, then, at the very least, you’ll get to relive what the franchise had been like in the past before the more recent disappointments.
