Classic Total War Games Upgraded To Definitive Edition

There’s been a little bit of something for every Total War fan these past few months. Warhammer aficionados might be sailing the seas in the new Curse of the Vampire Coast DLC. Meanwhile, those still conquering the world as the Romans probably still enjoy what Total War: Rome II has to offer. Also, there’s still a lot to look forward to once Total War: Three Kingdoms releases next year. But what about the classics? What about the fans who still cling on to Medieval II, Napoleon, or even Empire? Well, don’t fret because Creative Assembly has just given these games the Definitive Edition treatment. Total War: Totally Definitive

As you can see, those three classics from yesteryears will be getting their own Definitive Editions. While there obviously won’t be any major graphical overhaul, you’ll instead get all the DLC in one package for the respective titles.

For Medieval II: Total War, the Kingdoms expansion — which is something I still consider to be one of the best expansions offered for any strategy game — is already included.

For Empire: Total War, the Definitive Edition will have:

• The Warpath Campaign
• Elite Units of the East
• Elite Units of America

For Napoleon: Total War, you’ll get the following:

• The Peninsular Campaign
• Coalition Battle Pack
• Imperial Eagle Pack
• Heroes of the Napoleonic Wars

All three games now cost $24.99 each for those living in the US; regional pricing applies if you live in other countries. It’s worth noting that, without a major sale going on, the base games tend to cost $19.99 whilst additional DLC might set you back $4.99 to $9.99. You can definitely save up if you purchase the Definitive Edition now, although it’s much better to wait until a major sale comes along. The Thanksgiving/Black Friday sale is coming up so the price might drop soon.

There’s essentially nothing new if you’ve seen these bundled packages in the past except that the Definitive Edition replaces the base game on Steam. That means great news for those who own only the base games. Your games should update to the Definitive Edition which means you’ll get all their respective DLC for free if you don’t have them yet.
