CD Projekt RED has announced that it will once more reach out to Bandai Namco for publishing help. The company that is bringing us Soulcalibur VI later this week will distribute Cyberpunk 2077 in 24 European countries.

The two companies have built a strong partnership over the years. Bandai Namco took the charge on bringing both The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings and The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt to Europe in 2011 and 2015 respectively. Michał Nowakowski, CD Projekt’s Member of the Board and SVP of Business Development, said he was “convinced Bandai Namco will take good care of Cyberpunk 2077.”

“CD Projekt RED has become, in just a few years, one of the leading studios in this sector with a truly innovative approach to each game and we are both proud and excited to confirm that we’ll be part of the Cyberpunk 2077 project,” said Alberto González Lorca, VP Southern Europe & Biz Dev of Bandai Namco Entertainment Europe. “We’re looking forward to working once again with CD Projekt RED and distribute another of its games in Europe, providing first-class services to one of the most eagerly awaited games of the coming years.”

According to the press release, Bandai Namco’s European division will bring the game to the following countries:

  • Andorra
  • Austria
  • Belgium
  • Cyprus
  • Denmark
  • Finland
  • France
  • Germany
  • Greece
  • Iceland
  • Ireland
  • Italy
  • Liechtenstein
  • Luxembourg
  • Monaco
  • Malta
  • Norway
  • Portugal
  • San Marino
  • Spain
  • Sweden
  • Switzerland
  • The Netherlands
  • United Kingdom

Another publisher chosen to distribute the game is Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment. That company will bring Cyberpunk 2077 to North America. Like Bandai Namco, Warner Bros. distributed both The Witcher 2 and The Witcher 3 and will handle all its promotion.

So Close, Yet So Far

Cyberpunk 2077 is so close you can almost smell the neon and exhaust fumes. While we don’t know exactly when CD Projekt RED’s magnum opus will hit store and online shelves, we know it’ll be soon. The game is “finished,” so to speak. It’s fully playable today, with the developer saying it has reached the bug squashing and polishing stages.

We do believe, however, that the shooter-RPG hybrid will most likely come out next year. A recent leak suggests as much, and considering the prior news of the game being done and playable, a 2019 release date seems feasible. We’re keeping our ears to the ground, so you can bet that you’ll know as soon as we do.
