Treyarch and Activision will be parachuting in a couple of special editions of Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 for those of you with a healthier disposable income than most (or a friendly line of credit). The game will come in both “Hardened” and “Care Package” editions, with the former costing $80 USD and the latter going for a hefty $180 USD.
At the time of writing, neither of these editions include a subscription to the Call of Duty ‘Elite’ service, but this might just be because Activision hasn’t finished working out the details of that yet. Also note that these have been announced for the US, so other regions might get slightly different versions.
Here’s what’s in the boxes:
Hardened Edition
•   Bonus In-Game Content: Nuketown Zombies & Nuketown 2025
•   Exclusive Xbox Live CLAW Avatar Prop & Zombies Avatar Costume
•   Limited Edition Challenge Coins
•   Official Soundtrack by Jack Wall With Theme by Trent Reznor
•   Collectible Steelbook
•   Also Includes: Exclusive Weapon Camp & Exclusive Player Card Backgrounds
Care Package Prestige Edition
•   Bonus In-Game Content: Nuketown Zombies & Nuketown 2025
•   Exclusive PlayStation 3 System Multiplayer Theme & Zombie Theme
•   MD-27 Dragonfire Drone with Remote Control
•   Limited Edition Challenge Coins
•   Official Soundtrack by Jack Wall With Theme by Trent Reznor
•   Collectible Steelbook
•   Also Included: Exclusive Weapon Camp & Exclusive Player Card Backgrounds
These two are available for both Xbox 360 and PS3. Activision also mentions a PC-only “Digital Deluxe Edition” for $80 USD, but neglects to really explain what’s in it. Presumably it’ll be a tweaked version of the Hardened Edition.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 will be released on 13 November.
