Sniper Ghost Warrior Contracts

Sniper Ghost Warrior Contracts announced by CI Games as it tries to learn from past mistakes

This article is over 6 years old and may contain outdated information

It’s been a while since we’ve last heard from CI Games, makers of the Sniper: Ghost Warrior franchise. The last we’ve heard from them, it was when CI Games CEO Marek TymiÅ„ski mentioned the mistakes that the company made with Sniper: Ghost Warrior 3. TymiÅ„ski candidly stated that the title was “too ambitious” for the company. He also added that CI Games made a “big mistake” when they tried to create an open-world game. The Poland-based indie company just could not keep up with the demands in terms of performance, production values, and features. So it comes as no surprise that the next game in the series, Sniper: Ghost Warrior Contracts, will have a smaller and more focused scale.

Tymiński and CI Games, in their recent announcement, hope that by focusing on mission-based objectives and a simpler delivery, Contracts would get the Sniper: Ghost Warrior franchise back on its feet.

Rather than have massive, open-world exploration, Sniper: Ghost Warrior Contracts will simply offer replayable missions. Set in Siberia, each mission will have its own set objectives, various obstacles, and multiple ways to achieve your goal. You’ll also be rewarded with payouts depending on the objectives you completed. Missions can also be replayed to earn more cash.

We don’t have much information yet, although we’re surmising that it would be akin to a hub or map overlay where players just pick up missions from time to time. How well would the narrative be presented with such a system in terms of its single-player campaign?

There’s still time to learn more, however, since Sniper: Ghost Warrior Contracts won’t be out for a long time. It’s scheduled for release in 2019. As usual, PC Invasion will keep you updated as we learn more.
