Yakuza 6

Looks like Yakuza 6 is heading to PC according to SEGA financial report

This article is over 6 years old and may contain outdated information

Yakuza 6: The Song of Life released worldwide on the PlayStation 4 in April, receiving some high marks in the process. It currently stands at an impressive 83 percent rating at Metacritic. Naturally, this may leave some PC and Yakuza fans a little green with envy.

Well, maybe not for long. Yakuza Kiwami and Yakuza 0 will have to make some room, because it appears Yakuza 6 may find itself on PC after all. According to a recent SEGA financial report, the game is indeed coming our way.

The reveal was spotted earlier today by a Reddit user, who posted the shot below:

As you can see, SEGA has placed Yakuza 6: The Song of Life as a PC title for a possible 2019 release window. You can peruse the entire financial report here, if you’re a fan of spreadsheets (we know we have some EVE Online fans out there).

Not long ago, SEGA detailed its plan on fully embracing the PC. Games like Vanquish and Bayonetta found a new lease on life on Valve’s distribution platform. And of course, both Yakuza Kiwami, a remake of the original game, and Yakuza 0, a stunning franchise prequel, have both been released onto Steam. Each offers a bevy of features not found on consoles, such as full graphical support and unrestrained frame rate.

Our own Dann Sullivan reviewed Yakuza 0 on Steam, offering glowing words for the gritty crime drama:

Yakuza 0 is a fantastic title for those who enjoy a game with droves of story, brawling, and a little bit of strange humour. I will be continuing playing through towards 100% over these coming weeks, which is the first time I’ve said that about a game in a long, long time.

We will hopefully have more information if or when SEGA makes the news official. Until then, keep practising on those claw machines.
