House Pixel Games, an Indie Developer based out of Dallas, Texas, has announced their newest title. Mowin’ & Throwin’, a 2v2 multiplayer game featuring lawn-mowing gnomes, is available now via Steam Early Access.
Here’s how it works. Mowin’ & Throwin’ is a four-Âplayer competitive game where players team up and control gnomes to frantically mow grass. The team that trims the most wins. Also important to note is that items will drop from the sky. For example, one such item is a gasoline can. You can pick these up and throw them at your lawnmower to refuel. You can also hurl fertilizer and rocks on your opponents’ yard. Doing so makes their grass grow and basically messes them up.
The game began as a project by Ed Dearien (who wound up leaving for Sony to work on God of War). It has since evolved into something more. House Pixel Games spent a great deal of time polishing the vision, art style, and game mechanics. Voila, we have the final product.
Marc Mixon, producer at House Pixel Games, said:Â “Player feedback has already had a huge impact on development, so our primary goal in Early Access is to continue to grow our community of players and let them guide us as we develop the game.”
Mowin’ & Throwin’ will remain in the Steam Early Access program until early 2019. House Pixel Games is planning a 1v1 game mode and other feature and content updates. Eventually, it hopes to see a multiplatform release on PC, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4.
Mowin’ & Throwin’ is out now via Steam Early Access, priced at $19.99 / £15.49 / €16.79.
