EA has been in the news a lot lately for rather controversial reasons, but it’s not all bad. The company has partnered with the UK-based RSPCA (Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) which was founded all the way back in 1824. It’s the largest animal welfare charity in all of the United Kingdom (it also has other branches) and it has partnered with EA to promote the new Cats & Dogs expansion pack for The Sims 4, which in turn is promoting people to adopt pets from shelters.
The partnership page on EA’s website details how players can get involved:
- Head to the RSPCA Adopt A Pet website here.
- Choose a furry friend in need of a home and create them in The Sims 4 Cats & Dogs.
- Share your creation with the link to their Adopt A Pet profile page using #Sims4RSPCA on your social channels.

Video games tend to have a bad rep in mainstream media, so it’s good to see a game (especially one from EA) being used to promote a good cause. If you feel you have the resources to take care of a pet, definitely consider visiting your local shelter and see if you can find one that really tugs at your heartstrings. My family has a dog and he’s such a bundle of joy, even if he is a bit moody. Pets really are awesome!
