Kinect gets cheaper in the US, no plans for EU price cut

As if the exchange rate wasn’t punishing enough already, the gap between the price of Microsoft’s Kinect motion-sensor controller in the United States and Europe is about to get even wider. Microsoft today announced an immediate price cut on the device in the US, taking it from $150 USD to around $110 USD at most retailers.

This is a “permanent price reduction” for the US region and also extends to Latin America and Asia. On 4 October, a similar price drop will kick in for Australia and New Zealand.

Europe and Japan, you’re out of luck. Kinect will remain at the same price for the foreseeable future.
