European Comission Investigating Free To Play Games

The European Commission is in meetings to investigate the rise of, as well as consumer issues surrounding, free to play games.

The Commission notes that the European app market is predicted to become a €63 billion industry in the next 5 years. However, alongside that are worries about the microtransactions model used by many of these apps, and how children are especially vulnerable to these inducements.

In plain English, they want to see apps grow in the region, but also want to make sure the industry conducts itself in a way that is ethical and good for consumers.
