Sony has given the Playstation 4 a muted launch in Japan, following hugely succesful launches in the US and European markets. Sony has yet to reveal numbers for units shipped or sold.
With the delay of Deep Down, the console’s launch lineup is not highly reliant on online. Among notable titles are Yakuza Ishin, Dragon Warriors 8: Xtreme Legends, and beta for Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn.
As an aside, a fan reports that Knack is not stocked in stores, in lieu of download codes.

As the Guardian points out, the launch reflects changes in the market, as Japanese developers have struggled to catch up to innovations Western developers have made in recent years.
