Cyberpunk 2077 details and shots emerge from E3

Now that the dust has settled from all the E3 2018 conferences some more information about the highly anticipated Cyberpunk 2077 has been released by CD Project.

First and foremost the game is an RPG but it also has shooter elements as you will be playing around with guns in this game. It’s still an open-world narrative driven RPG at its core but it is played in first-person except when driving or in cutsenes when it switches to third-person. Think of this as a first-person RPG.

The follows the story of V, a hired gun who’s in increasing in notoriety in the violent and dangerous metropolis that is Night City. Being an RPG, players will be able to customise the character appearance an can play as V as either male or female. Gender choice will have an impact on shaping the narrative. There are class choices too which include Netrunner, Techie, Solo, or a mix of all three but they are not classes as such, more a way to define strengths and weaknesses of the character.

Players will also be able to pick their character stats which include constitution strength, intelligence, reflexes, tech, and the rather odd  ‘cool’,  as well as their character’s historical background.

Players will be able to shape the narrative with their actions with choices that have consequences. CD Projekt says that these choices will be more prominent and important than in any of their previous games. Cyberpunk creator Mike Pondsmith has also been working with CD Projekt to make sure the game stays grounded with the Cyberpunk RPG but the game has been taken to the year 2077 to see how the game universe has evolved.

It sounds ambitious but if anyone can pull this off it’s CD Projekt, and with no release date set for Cyberpunk 2077, they have plenty of time to get this right.
