PUBG celebrates first anniversary with free weapon skin

It was a year ago on 23 May PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds stormed onto the scene and PUBG is celebrating the anniversary with a freebie for all players.

From today, as a “small token of gratitude”, PUBG are giving all players who login to the game until 1 May weekly maintenance a free anniversary weapon skin. The Year One—SCAR comes emblazoned with the #1 on the side and the game’s catchphrase “winner winner chicken dinner”. It’s also lovely and yellow.

It’s been a wild ride for PUBG, the game has been a phenomenal success, even in Early Access, and it’s managed to hold the top spot for a whole year in the Steam Top Sellers. That.s quite something. Now they are also considering region locked servers, the game should continue its success even if Fortnite is proving to be a solid competitor.
