Total War Saga – Thrones of Britannia announced

Creative Assembly’s Total War Saga game has been announced as Total War Saga – Thrones of Britannia.

The ‘Saga’ series from CA aims to focus on specific events in history and Thrones of Britannia takes place in 878AD after the Viking invasion. King Alfred of Wessex, Alfred the Great if you prefer, struggled against the Vikings throughout much of his reign and it’s an enthralling story to tell in a Total War game with victories and defeats on both sides for decades.

“Our aim with Total War Sagas is to explore key flashpoints at distinct places and times in history”, said Series Director, Mike Simpson. “Unlike our era-spanning titles, we’re putting defined geographical areas under the microscope, building super-detailed campaign maps with a strong cultural focus and flavour that players can dive into. This will complement our broader-scope titles perfectly”.

Total War Saga – Thrones of Britannia will be hitting the PC next year and here’s the first trailer.
