Dauntless Founders Packs are available to buy now

The monster hunting free to play title Dauntless has just launched their Founders Packs.

Even though it will eventually be free to play, Phoenix Labs are enticing players to part with cash ahead of the beta tests by offering pre-beta and beta access as part of the deal.

There are three tiers available, the Slayer tier at $39.99 and the Hero tier at $69.99. Both of these grant closed beta access. increased drops, and a pack of consumable items. The more expensive of the two also comes with afew other bits and pieces,

The Founder tier costs a hefty $79.99 and will grant pre-Beta and beta access, game credits and a few extras not included in the other two tiers.

Charging for beta access is all the rage these days when it comes to free to play titles, but you have to be pretty committed to shell out for pre-beta access for a game you have never played.

As Dauntless is going to be free to play anyway, and the fact you can sign-up for the test without parting with any cash, I would hang on and see if you can get on the beta for free. It is a free to play gamer after all and you never quite know how they’ll turn out.
