Hisashi Koinuma, Producer on Berserk and the Band of the Hawk isn’t yet sure whether Koei Tecmo will be boosting the frame-rate up to 60fps for the PC version. Asked in a recent interview about the game’s frame-rate, Koinuma initially says “30 on all platforms”. When specifically queried about the PC frame-rate, he states “We don’t know yet”.
The discussion also confirms that Berserk and the Band of the Hawk will have eight playable characters, all of whom have now been revealed. They are: Guts, Griffith, Casca, Judeau, Nosferatu Zodd, Schierke, Serpico, and Wyald. Some of those characters will also have different ‘versions’ (like Golden Age Guts), but that’s the full playable line-up.
Koinuma says that “you play the game mostly as [Guts]”, but can play as others as you meet them in the story. The focus on Guts is cited as a reason for keeping Berserk single player only. “Since the core story is really about Guts, we don’t have any plans for multiplayer,” Koinuma says.
Unusually, Koei don’t seem to have many plans for DLC additions either. “Possibly it will be costumes, outfits, maybe additional stages, and possibly horses, but we’re not thinking about too many,” is the word there.
Berserk and the Band of the Hawk will come to PC on 21 February/24 February in the US/Europe respectively.
