Despite a post on Sunday saying the issues has been resolved, DE acknowledge that the problem persisted for many players who were unable to login.

“When the One Thousand Cuts Tactical Alert went live Friday March 11th just after 3 PM EDT all platforms began to feel the effects of what was quickly confirmed as DDoS strikes. Keeping in close contact with our infrastructure partners we worked to maintain connectivity despite persistent outside efforts to restrict access to the game. The attacks persisted throughout the weekend.

“The outcome of these attacks were varied. Some were able to log in but were quickly booted while running missions. Others struggled to log in entirely during the onslaught. Connectivity across platforms varied with traffic spiking and dropping erratically throughout the days.

“We worked to restore our servers throughout the weekend and made progress late Saturday which impeded most of the follow up attempts to bring down the game. Maintenance was performed early this Monday morning at 10:05 AM EDT as an added safeguard against future DDoS attacks. Sunday was relatively stable as our defenses held, but some login issues remain.

“We are in the midst of investigating all potentially related login issues. Existing login issues may be due to the mitigation efforts of our infrastructure partners during the attacks. We will have more updates for you throughout the day.”

On Saturday DE mentioned that Warframe players would be compensated for the inconvenience due to the attacks occurring during the One Thousand Cuts Tactical Alert event. A plan has now been put in place to re-run the event as follows:

  • Baro Ki’Teer will be making a reappearance with the same offerings as this past weekend. He will arrive on Friday March 18th and will be in the Relay until Sunday March 20th 1 p.m EDT.
  • The Tactical Alert “One Thousand Cuts” and 2x Resource bonus will be re-run March 17th to the 20th at 1 p.m EDT. You already survived “One Thousand Cuts”, what’s a thousand more?
  • Purchased boosters that were affected during downtime (March 11th – 13th) will be refunded with equivalent Platinum value. We will be running a script once discussions with our infrastructure partners have come to a close.
