Originally planned for release in April, the game has been pushed back a month and will now release on 24 May. Mike Simpson, Creative Director for Total War stated:

“This could be the best Total War game we’ve ever made. We don’t want to rush it. It’s an enormous game and we also want to make absolutely sure reviewers have enough time to play it thoroughly before launch.”

CA has just released the PC system requirements and this will be their first 64Bit Total War game. The specs that have been revealed come with a note that these are based on PCs with the quoted specs with a fresh OS install and no major background programs running.

The game is still in testing according to CA so these may change.

The comment from Mike Simpson regarding the Total War: Warhammer delay is interesting as he mentions giving reviewers time to play through the game. This makes a refreshing change for publications who are usually given one week at most. While it doesn’t effect us at PC Invasion because we always review after completing a game, the comment acknowledges that reviewers need time to play a game properly.
