Frogwares’ Lovecraft title The Sinking City revealed

Frogwares, the team behind the Sherlock Holmes series of games, have officially announced their Lovecraftian title, The Sinking City. Their news post states that this will be an “open world investigation Lovecraftian game”.

As the ‘open world’ terminology suggests, this game will be “bigger than what [Frogwares] ever did”.

This release is not to be confused with Cyanide’s Call of Cthulhu (the other Lovecraft title currently in development), which you could be forgiven for doing as Frogwares was initially announced to be working on that game. What exactly happened there isn’t clear, but Frogwares titles are no longer published by Focus Home Interactive (who appear to own the Call of Cthulhu name), so that would go some way to explaining it.

Both The Sinking City and the upcoming Sherlock Holmes: The Devil’s Daughter will be on show at next week’s Game Developers Conference (GDC) in San Francisco. More details about the game may well emerge at that time. For now, here’s some concept art.
