American Truck Simulator releases on 3 February, and while it might not be a finished game, SCS has detailed their plans for some of the extra states that will need be added to the game.

The game ships with California and now SCS has confirmed that Nevada will also be available as free DLC on launch day. They’ve also made good progress with Arizona which will also be a free DLC update when it’s finished some time after release.

SCS will have their work cut out to get the rest of the US mapped and they say the “road ahead of us is long” and it will take “years” to cover the whole of the US. This is definitely not a game for the impatient gamer.

Fans are being encouraged to “vote with their wallets” if they want to see more of the US included, and if players don’t buy future DLC, then don’t expect to see more content being added the game.

The Truck Simulator series has a solid fanbase which means new content should freely flow, but you never know, gamers can be fickle and this ambitious project could stall. Best to keep that in mind before jumping in.
