Convicts vs Nazis in Men of War: Condemned Heroes [Video]

This article is over 12 years old and may contain outdated information

1C’s latest entry in the Men of War series, Condemned Heroes, will be released in the UK on 20 April. In it, you’ll be leading a Russian ‘penal battalion’ on a series of increasingly dangerous and suicidal missions against German forces on the Eastern Front.
Penal battalions were formed from Russian soldiers and officers who had been charged with military crimes (from legitimate incompetence to “didn’t fancy charging into certain death”). The penal battalion represented one last chance to redeem themselves, and the possibility of dodging the death penalty. However, such squads were often used on suicide missions.
Quite what effect this will have on Men of War’s already steep difficulty will be interesting to see. The launch trailer (and a couple of screenshots) can be seen, below.
