Warhorse RPG will use CryEngine 3

This article is over 12 years old and may contain outdated information

It may not even have a name yet, but the RPG being developed by new studio Warhorse will be powered by Crytek’s CryEngine 3 technology. That’s the engine behind rather pretty looking titles like Crysis 2, of course.
The formation of Warhorse came to light in the middle of last year, when the concept of an RPG title was floated. An interest in “”open worlds, strong storyline and, last but not least, realistic design” was cited.
Between them, the Warhorse team has worked on titles as diverse as Operation Flashpoint (the original one), Hidden & Dangerous, Mafia/Mafia II and UFO: Aftermath (a homage to Julian Gollop’s original).
“We looked at every major technology out there and CryENGINE 3 suits our needs perfectly. We are confident it will allow us to make the vision for our game come true” says Warhorse Executive Producer Martin Klima.
