Cloud Imperium are running a couple of promos tied to recent gaming events that have been taking place, PAX and SXSW. These promos give PC gamers the chance to check out the Arena Commander dogfighting module for free and all you need are a couple of codes and to fill in a few details.

The PAX promo has a sign-up page here and if you use this code PAXEASTFREEFLY2K15 you can gain access to the game but it’s only open for the next 23 hours. Alternatively you can also sign-up via the SXSW page using the code SXSWFREEFLY2K15 to get started and this one will let you play until 20 March.

The client comes in at around 20Gb and the ship available to try is the Anvil Hornet F7C. You can also take a look around the hangar for good measure which will at least give you a taste of the game’s atmosphere and interiors.

If you’ve never tried Star Citizen and wonder why everyone is talking about it and pumped so much cash into the crowdfunding then give this promotion a try.
