If you’re one of those gambling types who bought Battlefield: Hardline on PC already, you can begin pre-loading the game today. That’s according to EA, anyway.
The system specs suggest you’ll need 60GB of hard-drive space, so pre-loading now might actually be a reasonable idea. To do so, find Battlefield: Hardline in your Origin games library (assuming you’ve bought it, obviously) and it should offer you an option to download and install.
That’s about the extent of the new news, so here are the full minimum and recommended system specs again. Basically, if you could run Battlefield 4 you’ll probably be just fine.
Minimum:
OS: Windows Vista SP2 64bit (with KB971512 Update) or newer.
PROCESSOR: 2.4 GHz Intel Core i3/i5 / 2.8 GHz Athlon II/Phenom II.
RAM: At least 4 GB.
GRAPHICS CARD: nVidia GTX260 with 896 MB VRAM or better / ATI 5770 with 1GB VRAM or better.
HARD DRIVE: At least 60 GB of free space.
DIRECTX 11.0.
Recommended:
OS: Windows 8 64bit (with KB971512 Update).
CPU: Intel Quad Core i5/i7 / AMD 6 Core.
RAM: At least 8 GB.
GRAPHICS CARD: nVidia GTX760 or better / AMD 290 or better.
HARD DRIVE: At least 60 GB of free space.
DIRECTX 11.0.
There’s also this fairly silly video from about a month ago, in which multiplayer designer Thaddeus Sasser talks about why Battlefield: Hardline will be so great on PC. He runs out of material (“um … mouse and keyboard are good?”) after about 30 seconds and then starts talking about riding in armoured cars and watching fellow developers get tasered.
