Ubisoft has announced the launch of a new IP R.U.S.E. and will be developed by Eugene Systems.
Due for release 2009/2010 for PC, Xbox 360 and PS3, R.U.S.E. is an RTS which allows players to intuitively zoom as far in, or as far out of the action with the exclusive IRISZOOMTM Engine.
“Players can explore the maps using IRISZOOM Engine, which provides an aerial, smooth interaction unlike anything ever seen before,” said John Parkes, Ubisoft EMEA marketing director.
As well as an intuitive interface and smooth transitions from one view to another, the game will be optimised for Intel’s Core i7 processor, both showcasing each other at the GDC later on in the week.
Being optimised for the Intel Core i7, R.U.S.E. will also take advantage of the processors ability to create more realistic AI as well as deliver on the visual demands of the game.
Elliot Garbus, vice president Intel Software, said “[g]amers will experience more immersive game play with smooth zooming from satellite to ground view, superior AI delivering more complex unit movements and more realistic physics throughout the game.”
Other than that there’s nothing really to report here.
Oh, yes, and the AI is supposed to be very smart indeed. Apparently this is a war of perception, and the only way to win it is to deceive your enemy. So deception of AI. Shouldn’t be too difficult should it?
